FREQUENTLY
ASKED QUESTIONS
ARE THESE REAL SKULLS?
In a word...No. They are made from a durable resin that is custom painted and carved to your liking. They are coated on the inside with food grade resin so you may enjoy a variety of beverages, from blood wine, to breakfast cereal.
CAN YOU MAKE ME A CUP FROM A REAL HUMAN SKULL?
As human skulls are prohibitively expensive, probably not. A typical anatomical skull costs upwards of $1500 depending on condition. If you already have a skull, or purchase one yourself, I am willing to discuss possibilities.
ARE ALL THE SKULLS THE SAME, OR CAN IÂ CUSTOMIZE MY SKULL?
I encourage you to customize your skull. With a base model, you can choose the color of the bowl and rim, the level of aging, and minor cosmetic effects such as a gold tooth. If you want more, I can carve motto or designs on the skull to personalize it. Cost will vary depending on the size and complexity of the design. Look at my gallery for ideas.
WILL YOU CARVE A DESIGN OR MOTTO THAT IS BLATANTLY RACIST OR OFFENSIVE?
I will not tell you no, but I will say that because this is a custom order, and they are unique items, I will charge enough to assuage my conscience for doing so, and I will request payment up front. My conscience and good name are not cheap.
ARE THE SKULLS OF MY ENEMIES DISHWASHER SAFE?
Due to the materials involved, it is best if you hand wash your cup with water and a mild detergent.
CAN I PUT HOT COFFEE IN MY SKULL?
The skull cups are fine with warm, cool and cold liquids, but I recommend against HOT liquids, as it may cause a separation between the skull and protective food grade resin layer inside the cup.
HOW MUCH LIQUID DOES EACH SKULL HOLD?
Each skull holds about 750ml, which is about a full bottle of wine, or a little less than a quart of the liquid of your choice.
HOW MUCH DO CHARGE FOR YOUR SKULLS?
A base model begins at $75 and you are able to choose the color of the bowl and rim, as well as the level of aging of the skull. Designs and mottos carved into the skull will depend on the size and complexity. I will give you a quote prior to beginning work.
Raven skulls start at $35 and the price is adjusted depending on the amount of customization.
DO YOU DO ANYTHING OTHER THAN CUPS
I also have a line of Raven skulls that can also be customized with carving and used as necklaces, and chicken foot Gris-Gris made in the New Orleans style. See my Other Items gallery for examples.
If you want a customized Raven skull, a good guideline for what can be carved is to draw your design with a sharpie marker inside a circle the size of a quarter. If it doesn't fit there, it probably won't fit on the Raven skull

More items may be added in future based on requests.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO COMPLETE AN ORDER?
That depends on how much customization work you have done and where you are in the queue. A base model will be ready in about 2 weeks once work has started. I will notify you when you are next up in queue and finalize any design details. Carving will take longer, but I will keep you updated with photographs as it progresses.
DO YOU HAVE ANY "OFF THE RACK" CUPS READY TO GO?
Not currently. In the future, I may have a section where you may buy ready to go cups, but currently, I am a make on order supplier.
DO YOU DO REFUNDS?
Because this is a custom art piece, I do not offer refunds unless your cup is broken or damaged upon delivery, in which case, I will attempt to replace it. But I do not offer refunds simply because your tastes have changed.
WHAT IS THE BEST WAY TO DRINK FROM MY SKULL?
The obvious answer is "From the open end". But I have found the easiest way to carry and drink from a skull cup is to hold it similar to the way you would a bowling ball. Two fingers in the eye sockets, and the thumb over the teeth. This allows you a firm grip to drink from the side without fear of the cup slipping from your hands and spilling your drink.
...I suppose so. I mean, it would be a whole LOT of cereal, but nothing's stopping you.
WHERE DO YOU GET YOUR RAVEN SKULLS?
CAN I EAT CEREAL FROM MY SKULL?
All my raven skulls are ethically sourced... by which I mean they are fake. They are resin cast and painted to look like an actual specimen.
